Iran's representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Reza Najafi, announced that Israel bears responsibility for any step toward Tehran's withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Iran's official news agency, IRNA, quoted Najafi as saying on Monday, June 16, 2025, that "the decision to withdraw from the NPT or not depends on future developments." He explained that "when member states of the NPT do not respect their commitments in a balanced manner, continued cooperation is unjustified."
Iran's representative to the IAEA urged its Board of Governors "not to allow its initial failure to prevent aggression to lead to subsequent failure," stressing that "the Board must take strong and effective action to address the situation." We condemn this aggression against Iran in the strongest terms."
Najafi also emphasized that "the aggressive entity is delusional in its claim that Iran is incapable of defending itself."
At dawn on Friday, June 13, the Zionist enemy launched a large-scale air attack on the Iranian capital, Tehran, and other provinces, targeting residential and civilian areas and nuclear facilities, resulting in deaths and injuries, including women and children. Iran responded to this attack with Operation "True Promise 3," targeting Zionist military and strategic sites.
