The ceasefire between Iran and Israel came into effect at 07:00 Jerusalem time.

US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire at midnight on Monday/Tuesday. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi responded to Trump's comments, stating that Tehran has no intention of continuing the war if Israel stops attacking the Iranian people.

In a social media post on Tuesday morning, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the country’s “powerful” armed forces on behalf of all Iranians.

He stated that military operations aimed at "punishing" the Zionist regime for its aggression against the Islamic Republic had continued "until the very last minute", concluding at 4 a.m. local time in Iran.

Israeli media outlets have reported that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, spoke with Trump in the last few hours. They also revealed that Netanyahu held an "expanded cabinet" meeting, after which he asked ministers not to make statements.

Netanyahu then met with the 'inner cabinet' and, after the meeting, announced his agreement to a ceasefire.

Iran launched a number of missiles towards various areas of the occupied territories shortly before the scheduled ceasefire, marking the final strike in the 12-day war.

Following this strike, Israeli media described it as 'a very difficult morning in Israel', revealing that a seven-storey building in Beersheba had been hit. Israeli medical officials reported that six settlers were killed and others were injured in the same strike.

Early this morning, Reuters reported, citing an informed source, that Trump had informed the Emir of Qatar that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire and had requested Qatari assistance in persuading Iran to do the same.

Israeli media reports, the desire for a ceasefire was raised during a conversation between Trump, his Vice President J.D. Vance, and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in which the three discussed the Iranian attack on the US base in Qatar.

According to Israeli Channel 12, Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, informed the US Secretary of State on Monday that Israel wants a ceasefire.
