The Security Department of Hajjah province organized a speech event on Thursday commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The event was attended by the province’s Deputy, Adel Farhan.
The Director of Hajjah Security, Brigadier General Hassan Al-Qasimi, described the Ashura anniversary as a tragic event in the Islamic history.
He also addressed the reasons behind Imam Hussein’s revolution against the tyrant of the Umayyad dynasty, emphasizing his struggle to uphold the values, principles, and morals of his grandfather’s religion and to restore its righteous path.
Brigadier General Al-Qasimi stressed the importance of drawing lessons from Imam Hussein’s sacrifices, reaffirming loyalty to the pure and fruitful "blessed tree," and strengthening resilience in the face of modern-day tyrants and oppressors.
Meanwhile, Abdulmajid Sharafuddin, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, discussed the anniversary as a spiritual milestone to reinforce steadfastness, resilience, and connection to the Prophet’s grandson, Imam Hussein, and to follow his path in confronting global arrogance and contemporary oppressors.
For his part, Colonel Ahmed Al-Ghulibi, Director of Facilities and Personal Protection, noted that the tragedy of Imam Hussein’s martyrdom was the result of the Yazidi deviation from the righteous path.
He also explained that the slogan of the revolution’s leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, and the Ansarullah today in confronting the U.S., Israel, and their allies is the same slogan Imam Hussein raised against the tyrants of his time.
