The Main Boycott Committee convened on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Eng. Moeen al-Mahqeri, to assess the implementation of the boycott on American goods.

Attended by Chairman of the Customs Authority, Eng. Adel Margham, the meeting reviewed previous minutes and evaluated measures enforcing the boycott decision.

Minister al-Mahqeri commended the rising public awareness and implementation efforts, urging stronger coordination among authorities to guarantee full enforcement.

The committee reaffirmed the boycott’s mandatory nature, calling for intensified market monitoring and inspection, alongside awareness campaigns framing the boycott as both an economic strategy and solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Participants emphasized promoting national products and sourcing local alternatives to replace boycotted items.

It was noted that the Prime Minister’s three-month grace period for disposing of existing stock, based on customs release dates, is underway. Import of newly contracted American goods post-decision is strictly banned.

The meeting also urged bolstered media campaigns and greater public engagement, underscoring the boycott as a potent economic weapon and a moral, humanitarian stance.
