The police commander in Lorestan Province, Brigadier General Yahya Elahi, announced the arrest of 87 agents linked to the Israeli enemy entity and their transfer to judicial authorities.
In detail, Brigadier General Elahi stated that the arrests took place during the recent aggression against Iran "thanks to intelligence information, good cooperation, and popular support." He noted that the detainees were charged with "confusing public opinion, sabotage, communicating with foreign intelligence agencies, and possessing explosives."
Elahi explained that the police in Lorestan Province, located in the west of the country, witnessed a significant increase in public confidence during the Israeli aggression.
He said that the police received more than 16,000 public reports containing general information within 15 days, which he considered an indicator of the depth of citizens' cooperation with the security forces.
Earlier this July, the Intelligence Department of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the arrest of a foreign intelligence agent in Mazandaran Province, in the north of the country, who was directing agents abroad to carry out terrorist operations within Iranian territory.
In the same context, Asghar Jahangir, spokesman for Iran's judiciary, announced the uncovering of hostile and mercenary networks within the country, reassuring the people that the judiciary is "determined to deal with the cases of those accused of treason and mercenaries with all force, speed, and justice."
