The British magazine "The Economist" stated that the military operations in the Red Sea confirm that control of Bab al-Mandab has now become in Yemen's hands, not Washington's.
In a report issued today, Saturday, the magazine indicated that the international position appeared weak and helpless, as these developments were met with muted reactions, reflecting the extent of the West's embarrassment in the face of the new realities on the ground.
The magazine explained that Yemen's naval capabilities are expanding, as the Yemeni armed forces continue to carry out qualitative operations against Israeli and other ships linked to it in the Red Sea, without the United States being able to stop these operations, which come within the framework of the support and assistance provided to the Palestinian people.
The Economist magazine confirmed that Yemen carried out two naval operations within a week, targeting two commercial vessels, the Magic Seas and the Eternity Sea, on July 6 and 7, resulting in their sinking. The report indicated that the United States had reduced its military presence in the region and withdrawn some of its naval destroyers, allowing Yemeni forces to expand their operations and impose a new deterrent equation that strengthened their presence in the Red Sea.
The report noted that the repeated Israeli-American raids against Yemen have not achieved any decisive results, just as the Saudi-Emirati aggression has failed to break the will of the Yemeni people over the past ten years of aggression. It noted that Yemen not only possesses weapons, but also the political will to use them when necessary, as Yemeni forces have proven their ability to alter the regional balance and impose a reality that cannot be overcome militarily.
