The Zionist enemy's special forces arrested the director of field hospitals in Gaza, Dr. Marwan al-Hamas, while he was visiting the Red Cross hospital west of Khan Yunis. During the arrest, a journalist was killed and another was wounded by enemy fire.
Eyewitnesses and security sources in Gaza reported that gunmen driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle opened fire on a group of Palestinians at a seaside café in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, opposite the Red Cross hospital, and kidnapped al-Hamas.
Witnesses and sources reported that "the armed kidnapping operation resulted in the martyrdom of two Palestinians and the injury of their ambulance driver in front of the Red Cross field hospital."
Press sources in Gaza reported that journalist Tamer al-Za'anin was killed and journalist Ibrahim Abu Ushaibah was wounded by Zionist enemy fire during the operation to arrest al-Hamas.
For its part, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip condemned the abduction of Dr. al-Hamas, describing it as a "serious violation" of freedom of expression and humanitarian work. It held Israel fully responsible for his safety and demanded his immediate release.
