Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said, "There is nothing but pain, tears, and famine in the Gaza Strip."
Basal added in press statements on Tuesday, "We have repeatedly called on the world to intervene to stop the famine that is ravaging us."

He pointed out that Gaza's children are literally dying of starvation, continuing, "2.3 million people, the entire population of Gaza, cannot find a morsel of bread."

Basal repeatedly appealed to citizens not to go to the new aid centers.

Since March 2, the enemy has closed the Gaza Strip's crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, goods, and fuel, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation. With American support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 198,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
