For the 87th consecutive week, thousands of Moroccans have taken to the streets in solidarity with Gaza, demanding the entry of humanitarian aid and an end to Israel’s starvation tactics—implemented alongside a genocidal war now nearing its 22nd month.

The demonstrations, organized by the Moroccan Commission for the Support of the Ummah’s Causes, were held in several cities, including Casablanca (west), Inzegane (center), Oujda (east), as well as Tangier and Tetouan (north).

Protesters raised Palestinian flags and displayed images highlighting the effects of Israel’s starvation policy targeting the people of Gaza. Chants of support for the Palestinian cause rang out, including: “Moroccan salute to proud Gaza” and “From Morocco to Palestine, one people, not two.”

Since the genocide began on October 7, 2023, Israel has simultaneously enforced a starvation campaign. On March 2, it tightened the siege by shutting all crossings into Gaza, blocking humanitarian, medical, and relief aid—pushing famine indicators to catastrophic levels.

With U.S. support, the assault has left nearly 208,000 Palestinians dead or wounded—most of them women and children—along with over 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and countless others perishing from hunger.
