Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza reported on Saturday the death of teenager Atef Abu Khater due to severe malnutrition amid the ongoing famine.

Eight more Palestinians died from hunger in recent days, raising the total famine-related death toll to 155, including 90 children.

Gaza is facing its worst humanitarian crisis, as famine deepens under an Israeli-led siege and a genocidal war ongoing since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, Israel has sealed all crossings, blocking most food and medical aid—worsening starvation across the Strip.

UNRWA warned that child malnutrition rates have doubled between March and June. The WHO reported that nearly 1 in 5 children under five in Gaza now suffers from acute malnutrition.

With full U.S. backing, Israel’s assault has killed 60,332 Palestinians and injured 147,643 others to date.
