Pro-Palestinian protesters raised a ruckus outside the Washington DC studios of CNN, criticizing them of being among the worst media offenders that try to cover up Israel's crimes and attempted genocide in Gaza.
And it's unfortunate that US media continues to manufacture consent for Israel's crimes against humanity and has for decades covered up their crimes, refusing to expose their crimes, refusing to name the culprit, using false equivalence, passive language. People in Palestine just somehow die; they're not killed by Israel. And CNN is one of the biggest entities that is complicit, Wolf Blitzer, Dana Bash Jake Tapper, all act like they are actually paid to defend Israel.
Multiple studies of CNN coverage show a consistent double standard. Palestinians get far less sympathetic and humanizing coverage than Israelis.
Many add that there is effectively a blackout to prevent reflecting the reality that public opinion has dramatically shifted against Israel, especially among young voters, and in such huge numbers, which few believed possible.
We are seeing that people are influenced more by social media. They're influenced more by influencers on social media. Citizen journalism coming out of Palestine has massively shifted people's perspective, because they're able to see in real time, with no filters, with no editorializing, what is happening, what Israel is doing, and Israel's crimes that simply cannot be justified or excused. And the more people see these images, the more obsolete big media becomes.
Repeatedly since October 7, 2023 CNN staffers and whistleblowers have given interviews and released documents which show that management forces them to effectively regurgitate Israeli propaganda and censor Palestinian perspectives.
It's been years since we've gotten coverage from mainstream media. We used to have our protests covered. We used to be invited to speak. Not since October 7. They don't want to hear our voices. And it's really interesting. I mean, even these protests that have been happening at media outlets, you would think that mainstream media would want to come and cover that. It should be part of the story, but they're nowhere to be seen.
The overwhelming majority of US media is owned privately, but many say that, especially at the six corporations which control 90% of the nation's media, the US media's collusion with Israeli crimes is as undeniable as the collusion of the US government.
The lack of objectivity, honesty and even basic humanity from CNN and other corporate media has drastically undermined respect for journalism itself in the United States,.
But they remain unable to change the fact that awareness and acceptance of Israeli crimes is more widespread than ever.
