They criminal Trump and Netanyahu, backed by the Zionist lobby, are moving to quietly liquidate the Palestinian cause, exploiting the state of submission to which they have reduced the Arab and Islamic world.
For them, time is a fleeting opportunity to bring the issue to an end and turn what remains of the Palestinian people into a marginalized minority subjected to the regime and policies of the occupying entity.
Hope in the nation’s moral awakening is rapidly fading, as reality entrenches a culture of submission, defeatism, and deference to the enemy’s perceived power—ensuring no head is raised and no voice dares to rise.
What is unfolding in Palestine—a gradual, soft erosion of the very foundations of the cause—clearly signals a march toward liquidation. Governance of Gaza has effectively been handed to the so-called “Peace Committee,” chaired by the criminal Trump himself, who wields exclusive veto power within it.
This grants him, alongside the wider imperial bloc, free rein to reshape the Strip in line with the expansionist ambitions designed for the occupying entity.
Turning the Gaza Strip into a Land Without Identity
Trump remains committed to his ambition of expanding the geographical scope of the occupied territories in favor of the Israeli enemy, and to his pledge to reduce Gaza to a territory stripped of sovereignty and identity.
In this context, he has even rejected any future role for the Palestinian Authority in the Strip, underscoring a clear determination to push this geographic space fully under the control of the occupying entity.
In the West Bank, meanwhile, the so-called occupation “army” has, for months, escalated the brutality of its operations—through killing, mass arrests, home demolitions, the torching of farmland, and severe restrictions on workers’ movement.
At the same time, it has intensified its policy of incremental land seizure to expand new settlement outposts, to the point where the city of Jerusalem itself now faces the threat of being swallowed entirely by the enemy.
If these two scenes leave no doubt about the intentions to liquidate the cause within the occupied territories and against a people living under occupation, the conspiracy surrounding the right of return completes the picture.
Targeting this right effectively erases what remains of the Palestinian cause, leaving it alive only in the conscience of Palestinians and free people around the world.
Early on, the occupying entity began tightening the noose around the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), accusing it of harboring elements it deems dangerous. More recently, it has escalated its demands to terminate the agency’s work altogether.
For its part, the United States—under Trump’s leadership—has aligned fully with this demand, even adopting it as its own, in a move aimed at erasing what remains of international recognition of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land and of acknowledgment of the right of return for those displaced following the entity’s establishment through blatant international complicity.
A Deliberate Failure to Hold the Occupation Accountable
The United States and “Israel” are pressing to replace UNRWA with alternative aid organizations, fully aware of the strategic value behind this demand.
It is a calculated move, meticulously engineered within the corridors of the Zionist movement, aimed at dismantling the existing framework and exploiting the presence of an extremist, blood-soaked government led by the criminal Netanyahu.
The proposal to replace UNRWA continues to provoke mixed reactions, likely requiring more time to impose it as a fait accompli and force remaining opponents to adapt to it—and ultimately forget the issue altogether.
Nidal Al-Azza, Director of the Palestinian studies center BADIL, stresses that what is being proposed today “is not administrative reform, but an attempt to tear the agency apart and reduce it to a hollow umbrella devoid of political and legal substance, paving the way to strip Palestinian refugees of the international status of their cause.”
Recently, armed gangs of the occupying entity stormed UNRWA’s headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem, showing blatant contempt for the agency’s immunity, its international standing, international law, and UN resolutions.
This came as part of a broader project to liquidate the Palestinian refugee issue—amid a deliberate failure to hold the occupation accountable for such actions, the continued obstruction of any deterrent measures within the Security Council, and the retreat of the United Nations, donor states, and international human rights organizations from their legal and moral responsibilities, including urgent action to protect their institutions and staff in the occupied Palestinian territories.
This barbaric conduct reflects the Zionist entity’s ongoing effort to eliminate any legal foundation recognized by the world for the Palestinian people on their land.
Observers note that targeting UNRWA in occupied Jerusalem—along with demolishing its offices and temporary facilities within the compound—falls within a systematic policy aimed at erasing the refugee issue and ending the agency’s role as an international witness to the crime of forced displacement committed against the Palestinian people in 1948.
Jerusalem affairs expert Ziad Abuhbeis argues that replacing the historic UN headquarters with a settlement project constitutes “a declaration of war on the living witness,” noting that the occupying entity understands UNRWA to be “the legal and political vessel of the refugee cause,” and that eliminating its physical presence in Jerusalem is a central step toward erasing the right of return from both international memory and reality.
Weakening UNRWA to Facilitate Gradual Settlement Expansion
UNRWA embodies the political and historical rights of the Palestinian people—it is far more than a humanitarian agency. The international community recognizes its close connection to the Palestinian right of return, a documented acknowledgment of the occupation of Palestinian lands by the Zionists.
References confirm that UNRWA serves as an international umbrella preserving the rights of Palestinian refugees, including the right of return enshrined in UN Resolution 194, preventing their reduction to mere individuals under the UNHCR framework.
Experts on Israeli affairs note that the ongoing attacks on UNRWA aim to weaken the agency in preparation for its eventual elimination.
This is coupled with efforts to strip its mandate of substance, reducing refugees to a “humanitarian burden” rather than rights holders.
Weakening UNRWA, they argue, facilitates the gradual imposition of settlements and transforms refugees’ rights into mere crisis management—advancing the agenda of erasing the Palestinian cause, according to Ultra Palestine.
A Symbolic Guardian of Refugee Rights
UNRWA was established in December 1949 under UN Resolution 302 to provide relief and assistance to Palestinian refugees displaced by the 1948 aggression. The agency also serves as a symbolic custodian of the collective rights of Palestinian refugees, as enshrined in UN General Assembly Resolution 194 of 1948.
