CNN revealed that the US Air Force has lost at least seven manned aircraft since the start of the war with Iran.
The network explained that two separate incidents on Friday resulted in the loss of two aircraft, an F-15E and an A-10, bringing the total number of destroyed manned aircraft to seven.
The Iranian military targeted a US A-10 aircraft after spotting it in southern waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
In a related context, previous reports indicated that three F-15E aircraft were shot down on March 2nd by friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defenses, while six crew members of a KC-135 refueling tanker were killed in Iraq on March 12th following a mid-air collision.
The network also reported the destruction of an E-3 Sentry early warning aircraft on the runway of Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, as a result of an Iranian attack on March 26. A military transport plane was also damaged in the same attack.
Earlier, a US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at an air base in the Middle East after being targeted by Iran, according to sources cited by the network.
In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the downing of a warplane and five other aerial targets, asserting that the country's airspace had become a no-go zone for enemy aircraft.
These significant developments on the ground come as the Islamic Republic continues its military response to US-Israeli aggression, targeting the heart of the occupied Palestinian territories and striking US interests and bases in the region. This is in retaliation for attacks on Iranian territory and reaffirms the deterrence equation imposed by Tehran.
