Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that “the enemy’s anger and the nonsense of the criminal minister stem from our unity around our leadership and the failure of their plans.”

Ghalibaf added that “the heartfelt pledge among the sons of the resistance has always been—and remains—to fight trench after trench until the word and will of the Ali Khamenei are realized.”

Earlier, both Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Ghalibaf emphasized that Iranians are “one nation,” rejecting any notion of divisions such as “hardliners and moderates” within Iran. Their remarks came in response to statements by American President Donald Trump, who had claimed there was an internal conflict in the country.

These statements were also a direct response to Trump’s earlier assertion that “Iran is facing great difficulty in determining its leadership,” alleging the existence of internal strife.

The statements come amid increasing discussion of a potential second round of talks between Washington and Tehran in Islamabad, aimed at reaching a final agreement to end the ongoing conflict in the region.

However, Iran continues to reject participation in a new round of negotiations as long as American forces maintain the blockade on Iranian ports and coastlines, and as Washington insists on Iranian officials call “excessive” demands.

The first round of talks between American and Iranian sides was held in Islamabad earlier this April, with the participation of technical and financial delegations. However, it did not yield the desired results after Washington failed to adhere to a 10-point Iranian proposal that had been accepted as a foundational framework for negotiations.
