The media relations office of Hezbollah on Monday denied claims by Syria’s Interior Ministry under “al-Julani authorities” regarding the dismantling of an alleged Hezbollah-affiliated cell accused of planning security operations inside Syrian territory.
In an official statement, Hezbollah categorically rejected false accusations issued by the Syrian Interior Ministry, which claimed it had dismantled a Hezbollah-linked cell preparing to carry out security-related activities in Syria.
The group stated that the repeated allegations by Syrian security bodies—despite Hezbollah’s consistent assertions that it has no presence or operational activity in Syria—raise serious questions. Such claims indicate attempts to incite tension and discord between the Syrian and Lebanese peoples.
Hezbollah further emphasized that it seeks prosperity and stability for Syria and its people, expressing hope that the country achieves full security and peace. The group also underscored that any threat to Syria’s security is inherently a threat to Lebanon’s security.
The statement concluded by asserting that Hezbollah has never acted to destabilize the security of any country or target the stability of its population. Rather, it was and will remain in a defensive position against the Zionist enemy and its expansionist projects—an adversary that occupies land in both Lebanon and Syria and seeks control over their resources.
Since the rise to power of factions associated with “al-Julani” in Damascus on December 8, 2024, Syrian authorities have repeatedly claimed to have dismantled Hezbollah-linked cells or uncovered arms smuggling routes. Hezbollah has consistently and firmly denied these allegations, reiterating that it conducts no activities inside Syrian territory.
