Ismail al-Thawabta, Director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Tuesday, stated that the Gaza Strip is witnessing a “sharp and dangerous” decline in the number of aid trucks allowed to enter, due to the restrictive measures implemented by the Zionist enemy.

Al-Thawabta explained that the enemy has allowed the entry of only 48,636 trucks out of the 131,400 that were supposed to enter since the ceasefire began, representing a compliance rate of no more than 37%. This means that more than 63% of basic humanitarian needs are being prevented from entering.

He added that during the period from the beginning of May until the 18th of the same month, only 2,719 trucks entered out of the 10,800 that were supposed to enter, a compliance rate that has dropped to only 25%.

Al-Thawabta emphasized that these figures reveal the continuation of the policy of “restriction and siege,” noting that the occupation is using food, medicine, and humanitarian aid “as tools of pressure and political blackmail,” in violation of international humanitarian law.
