A woman was martyred and another woman along with a child were wounded on Tuesday when a cluster bomb left behind by the US-Saudi aggression exploded in Saada province, local sources reported.

According to Almasirah's correspondent in the province, the explosion occurred in the Ghafira area of Al-Zahir district. A woman was killed instantly, while another woman and a young girl sustained injuries in the blast.

Specialized teams are working to remove cluster bomb remnants and secure populated areas. However, officials have warned of continuing risks to civilians, particularly children who lack sufficient awareness of the dangers posed by these unexploded ordnance.

These incidents highlight the persistent threat of unexploded cluster munitions left behind by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression against Yemen. Children remain the most vulnerable demographic, frequently falling victim to these deadly remnants while going about their daily activities.

The contamination of agricultural lands, residential areas, and roads with cluster munitions continues to claim innocent lives years after they were dropped.

Saada Governorate has been heavily contaminated with unexploded ordnance from years of continuous airstrikes and ground fighting. Cluster munitions, banned by over 100 countries under the Convention on Cluster Munitions, have been repeatedly documented as having been used by the Saudi-led coalition throughout its military aggression in Yemen.
