A pregnant Palestinian woman from the town of Qaryout, south of Nablus, lost her unborn child on Monday after Zionist occupation forces obstructed her transfer to the hospital at the Awarta military checkpoint, located south of the city.

Bashar Al-Qaryouti, an activist and paramedic who accompanied the woman, explained that Zionist enemy forces refused to allow the ambulance to pass after closing the checkpoint gates. The forces detained the medical crew and subjected the woman—who was in her sixth month of pregnancy—to a search, despite her suffering from severe bleeding.

Al-Qaryouti added that Zionist enemy soldiers forced the ambulance crew to shut off the vehicle's engine, which caused the supporting medical equipment inside to stop functioning. He noted that the detention lasted for more than half an hour before the vehicle was finally permitted to pass.

Al-Qaryouti confirmed that although the woman eventually reached the hospital, she lost her fetus, while medical staff managed to save her life.

This incident comes amid widespread Zionist enemy military restrictions on the city of Nablus following recent events in the village of Tell, southwest of the city. Those events resulted in the martyrdom of four young men and the injury of another, while two settlers were killed after one of the Palestinian youths managed to seize a settler's weapon in self-defense and fire toward him.

This follows a similar event roughly a week ago, when 30-year-old Sujoud Fuqaha—a mother of two from the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah—passed away after suffering a heart attack. Her death occurred after Zionist enemy forces delayed an ambulance's entry into the town by closing one of the iron gates at its entrance.
