Through the Story of Adam in Surah Al-A'raf
(Part Six)
The Repentance of Adam and Hawwa and the Beginning of Iblis's Journey to Tempt Their Descendants!
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I believe that there is no god but Allah, the Sovereign and the Manifest Truth, and that Muhammad, our master, is His servant, Messenger, and Last Prophet.
O Allah! Confer Your salat and blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad as You conferred Your salat and blessings upon Ibrahim and the Family of Ibrahim. You are Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! And be pleased with Muhammad's good companions and all Your righteous servants and mujahidin.
O Allah! Guide us and grant us acceptance, for You are the Hearing, the Knowing; accept our repentance, for You are the Relenting and the Merciful.
Brothers and sisters, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
We continue our discussion in light of the blessed verses from Surah Al-A'raf, where Allah tells us the story of Adam (PBUH) that contains many important lessons and insights. Based on the verses we discussed yesterday, it becomes clear to us that Satan (May Allah curse him) relies on the method of deception towards humans. In fact, he does not know the unseen. When he targets a person, he does not know the unseen regarding that person, nor does he know what that person hides. However, in his whispers to humans, he first focuses on what is known about humans in terms of their whims, desires, and instinctive inclinations. He also focuses on a person's reality because his reality, life circumstances, problems, and concerns tell a lot about him. His problems reveal the weakness that Satan can exploit. Similarly, his concerns manifest in his practical reality, in what he says and does. Thus, many aspects of a person's state appear in his actions, words, interests, and situations, and Satan tries to find the method by which he can influence humans. He may focus on certain aspects, but if he finds that they do not represent a weakness in a person and his influence fails, he then looks for another means and method. Therefore, when he said, {'I will approach them from their front, their back, their right, their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful'}, he means that he will search from multiple angles. And this, as we mentioned earlier, is one of his tactics. He focuses on repeated searching and attempts, and he knocks on all doors, so to speak. This means that he searches from a certain angle to see if he can influence you through it. If he fails, he doesn't despair yet; instead, he searches for another way. He may not succeed in certain circumstances, so he tries again in different conditions because human states vary between ease and hardship, sickness and health, satisfaction and anger, wrath and comfort, and so on.
In terms of human conditions, he may search for the condition in which he can have the most influence on a person, considering their circumstances and problems. He may try this side or that, and so on. If he finds a weakness in a person, he tries to exploit it to the maximum extent. When he found a weakness in our father Adam and our mother Hawwa (Peace be upon them), he tried to exploit it to the maximum extent.
He may find in some humans that he cannot influence them towards immorality, crimes, and vices because they have a serious religious orientation. So he tries to manipulate them in regards to their religious orientation, either through ostentation, self-admiration, or those evils that undermine the faith value of their religion—their religious practices, acts of worship, and righteous deeds. He may deal a severe blow to them through ostentation and self-admiration or through what renders deeds worthless. You may spend —spending in the cause of Allah carries great rewards—then he either leads you to ostentation or self-admiration in that, or makes you follow up on what you have spent with reminders of favour, harm, or other similar things. This applies to the rest of the righteous deeds as well.
Furthermore, he may lead some to worship Allah but through misguidance, innovation in religion, extremism in religion, making statements about Allah without knowledge, falsely attributing lies to Allah, attributing to Allah what is not part of His religion, permitting what Allah has prohibited, prohibiting what Allah has made permissible, etc. Indeed, he tries to approach humans from any possible direction.
As for those he can lure with lusts and temptations, he relies on that to bring about their fall. In fact, many are those who fall because of that. Some fall because of their anger, as the weakness Satan uses against them is their anger and emotional outbursts. Many crimes occur in moments of anger and emotional outbursts, especially acts of injustice, acts of aggression, acts of tyranny, and acts of transgression. The same applies to various situations that can be exploited by Satan to make humans fall.
In a state of shame and remorse, Adam and Hawwa announcing their repentance!
We arrived at Allah’s saying, {‘They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves"’}, after Satan tempted them to disobey the divine command. Allah (Glory be to Him) forbade them from approaching that tree, so as soon as they ate from that tree, they fell into trouble. They realised that they had fallen into a big problem when they were stripped of everything, even their clothing in the garden. Moreover, they felt that Satan succeeded in dealing a blow to them, through which he sought to deprive them of the blessings and abundant living that Allah had granted them. Even at the spiritual level, they felt that he entangled and deceived them.
Satan strives to make you, as a human, lose, to strip you of what Allah has given you, and to bring you down from the position of honour that Allah has granted you. He also wants to target your spirit to make you feel deceived, trapped, and entangled. He wants to break your spirit and, as people often say, to ‘laugh at you’. He seeks to convey that your will is weak and to make you even feel that you are weak, helpless, and defeated and that he has deceived you and entangled you. Therefore, he tries from all angles to drive you into loss, to strip you of what Allah has granted you, to undermine your dignity, and to make you feel weak and helpless. He wants you to feel his superiority, to feel that he's outwitted you, crushed you, and ensnared you! He wants to revel in a sense of victory over you.
That moment was difficult for them, as they felt ashamed before Allah (Glory be to Him) for having disobeyed His command and remembered that Allah had warned them about their enemy, the accursed Satan. In that moment, they experienced firsthand what a significant difference there is between Satan's deception—that eating from that tree would elevate them greatly, making them angels and granting them immortality and a kingdom that would never perish—and the harsh reality they faced when they were stripped of everything! This truly highlights the difference between divine promise and the Satanic illusion.
- The devil offers people delusion and deception: {‘Truly Satan promises them nothing but delusion’}.
- As for Allah (Glory be to Him), He promises us a true promise, bestows His blessings upon us, and presents us with what elevates us. He uplifts us in our humanity, allowing us to rise, to attain honour, and to have high human and moral value.
In that moment, which was a difficult moment, they were stripped of everything. Allah (Glory be to Him) reminded them in that moment, while they were in a state of shame and intense remorse before Allah for what they had fallen into, feeling that they were deceived by Satan and the false oath he made. Therefore, they turned to Allah (Glory be to Him) in repentance and returned to Him.
{'They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers"'}. They repented to Allah (Glory be to Him), and He guided them to repentance and to what to say to repent to Him, as previously mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah: {'Then Adam received from his Lord words, and He pardoned him. Indeed, it is He Who is the Accepter of Repentance, the Merciful'}. They both returned to Allah (Glory be to Him), feeling remorseful, recognising their shortcomings and acknowledging their wrongdoing. This is part of true repentance: a deep remorse for wrongdoing, along with the acknowledgment of mistakes and shortcomings, and at the same time, a firm resolve not to return to that wrongdoing. {‘They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves”’} because this does injustice to oneself.
When a person commits a transgression, he does not harm Allah in any way; rather, he wrongs himself. The consequences and impact that arise from transgression and disobedience begin the moment a person falls into that act of disobedience. For example, in their case, as soon as they committed the sin, it had direct consequences on their lives. Therefore, what comes after the sin is not the same as what was before it. The reality of a person becomes different after disobeying Allah than it was before: It has an impact on his spirit and his daily life. Indeed, sins have direct impacts and negative consequences on a person's life. They both realised that they had entered a new phase, one that was completely different from what they had experienced before.
{'They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."'} They understood that without Allah's forgiveness and mercy, their loss would not be limited to that opportunity or what they had in that garden. Indeed, a person may end up with a serious loss. This is perhaps, or rather certainly, the case with many people. So they could have lost the pleasure of Allah and the faith-related gains in this life at the spiritual level and in terms of living a good life suitable for them as humans. A person may end up losing Allah's pleasure in the Hereafter. The loss for many people is of such magnitude: They lose what faith can grant a person in this life in terms of his spiritual reality and well-being and in the coming future in the Hereafter, where he gains the pleasure of Allah and Jannah and attains salvation from divine punishment, Jahannam (We seek refuge in Allah). Thus, loss is the inevitable price of disobedience and its unavoidable consequence. They turned to Allah with awareness, regret, a sense of inadequacy, and an understanding of the dangers of wrongdoing, and Allah accepted their repentance. We see that both of them turned to Allah (Glory be to Him), acknowledging their disobedience and seeking forgiveness and mercy.
Therefore, there is absolutely no validity to the claims and distortions made by the Jews that Hawwa (Peace be upon her) was directly involved in swaying Adam and persuading him to sin and that when Satan failed to influence Adam, he turned to Hawwa, influenced her, and convinced her, only to convince Adam and tempt him into disobedience. That is not true; it is one of the superstitions of the Jews. In their philosophy, vision, and culture, they adopted an entirely inappropriate view and perception of women, an extremely derogatory view of women and their role. They act according to this belief, even in their constant efforts to tempt women and exploit them to sway other societies. This can be attributed to their corrupt and invalid perception.
In fact, throughout the story as presented in the Holy Quran, it is evident that Satan focused on both of them, whispering to them both. Allah (the Almighty) says, {'Then Satan whispered to them'}. He whispered to both of them and swore an oath to them both, and they both fell into disobedience together. They repented to Allah (Glory be to Him) together and turned back to Him together, and Allah forgave them both.
The repercussions of disobedience, even after forgiveness: {'Go down!'}
After forgiveness, the situation no longer remained the same as it was: Even after forgiving their disobedience, their situation did not remain as it previously was because repercussions of disobedience were bound to occur. {' said, "Go down"'}. Allah had forgiven their disobedience, but they still had to suffer some of the consequences of that disobedience in their reality: They had to leave and descend from that garden.
{'Allah said, "Go down."'} This time, Allah ordered them all to descend: Adam, Hawwa, and Satan as well. Satan was expelled from among the angels, and after that, he headed towards Adam and his wife, Hawwa, in that garden for the purpose of tempting them and ensnaring them into disobeying the divine command not to approach that tree. Then he was expelled from there with them. Actually, being there was not a matter of honour or bliss for him because he differs from humans in his nature, creation, and style of life. Therefore, what is bliss for humans is not in itself bliss for Satan, as he is one of the jinn.
{'Allah said, "Go down}—all of them—{as enemies to one another"'}. Enmity with Satan becomes inevitable, for he is a sworn enemy, who holds intense enmity and a deep-seated grudge towards Adam, Hawwa, and their descendants. So Adam and Hawwa descended from the garden they were in to the ordinary situation on the earth to continue their life and begin their journey later in terms of reproduction and other things that developed and expanded with the expansion of their life circumstances, along with their descendants. However, this presence becomes intertwined with this conflict, a conflict between good and evil, a conflict that Adam and his descendants face with Satan and those who follow him and align with him. This conflict has become an inevitable conflict that is part of reality and inescapable. That is because Satan harbours a strong grudge and intense enmity towards humans as humans.
{'As enemies to one another'}—this enmity is one that allows for no reconciliation or truce and is not limited to a specific timeframe; it continues as long as life exists and humanity is present. In this conflict, neutrality is impossible. No one can declare neutrality by saying, 'I will not side with my father Adam and the human direction that Satan opposes,' seeking to reconcile with Satan or remain neutral with him. There is no neutrality in this conflict, no reconciliation, and no truce, for it is the kind of conflict that knows no end. Satan actively targets humans. If a person becomes heedless and ignores this enemy, then this will empower this enemy and pave the way for his influence. The important thing in this conflict is that the key to victory or defeat is in the hands of humans. They either follow the right direction, aligning themselves with Allah (the Almighty), and shielding themselves with faith, which will help them achieve victory and defeat Satan; or they are at risk of facing a very serious defeat.
{'And you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time'} The earth is your place of settlement, and in it is your life, and this is for a certain period of time, until an appointed time because humans came to this life for a temporary existence, a temporary life, and for an appointed time. So existence in this life is for a certain period, and the earth is the arena of this struggle between humans and Satan and between good and evil in the reality of human beings. {'A place of settlement and provision for a time'}—this life is to exist only for a certain time.
{'He said, "Therein you will live"'}. In this worldly life and on this earth, you will live, settle, seek livelihood, and fulfil your responsibilities. It is on this earth you will engage in this struggle with your enemy, the accursed Satan. {'And therein you will die'}. So humans live on this earth and die on it. {'And from it you will be brought out'}: On the Day of Judgment, you will be brought out from its soil for reckoning and recompense; then you will be taken from it to the abode of recompense. Thus, this earth is for your life, your death, your reckoning, and your resurrection.
Satan begins his campaign to lead the children of Adam astray!
And Adam descended and settled on the earth with Hawwa (Peace be upon her) after having a bitter experience, an experience that made them vigilant, alert, and extremely cautious of the accursed Satan. But Satan turned his attention to their offspring, as He no longer had an opportunity with them. When he caused them to commit a transgression through deception, under specific conditions and circumstances, they had not yet had the experience and were shocked by his oath; they did not expect him to swear a false oath. After that, they became completely cautious of him afterwards, so he turned his attention to their offspring. Therefore, the address is directed to their offspring: {'O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your nakedness and as adornment. However, the clothing of piety is the best clothing. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember'}.
In contrast, Satan tries to strip the children of Adam of what Allah (Glory be to Him) has provided them such as blessings, honour, moral status, and moral worth; he aims to present humanity in a shameful, disgraceful, broken, miserable, and undesirable state. This is the image Satan wants to see you in: a person who is shattered, devoid of moral value, fallen from a state of honour, weak-willed, and indulging in immoralities and degrading actions that diminish your dignity and your spiritual and human worth. Allah (the Almighty) has blessed the children of Adam with things that cover them, make them beautiful, protect them, and honour them. This is why we see that even with Adam and Hawwa Satan was keen to strip them of everything, including their clothes, the rank of honour they were in, and that good and comfortable life. He pursues the same goal for the children of Adam: He wants to strip humans of their moral and faith-based values, to cause them to fall from the rank of honour, to lower them to a degraded, lowly state, where they find themselves in sin and shame. He wants to see you broken, with a shattered will and in a miserable state.
Allah says, {'O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your nakedness.'} Allah has provided you with what preserves your dignity and covers your private parts. Satan wants you to be exposed; he wants to strip you naked body and soul and to see you in a disgraceful state, far removed from the honour that Allah has granted you.
Allah (the Almighty) has provided for you in this life what preserves your dignity, covers your nakedness and private parts, and protects you from disgrace. He has provided you with what protects you from being in a bad, disgraceful state. Among Allah's great blessings upon humans is the blessing of clothing and covering, as clothing enables a person to cover himself and his private parts, and this is a way of honouring humans. In fact, this also distinguishes them from animals, whose private parts are exposed. Thus, it is an honour for humans that Allah has granted them clothing to cover their private parts.
In addition to covering one's private parts, clothing also serves as an adornment for a person. It adds beauty and aesthetic value to a person, and Allah has made this available for humanity: He made it possible for humans to have garments available that are not only beautiful but also serve as protection. Clothes help shield the body from cold and heat, and over time, clothing has evolved to meet various needs and tasks, leading to a wide array of garments for different purposes. For instance, in this age, we have specialised clothing like diving suits, firefighter uniforms, and space suits, among many others. The clothing that covers a person's nakedness is a significant honour, preventing him from being in a state like that of other animals. At the same time, it provides protection and enhances beauty. This is a well-known aspect of human life, and the world of clothing is indeed vast and diverse.
{'We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your nakedness and as adornment.'} Clothing also serves as adornment, gives beauty, and preserves modesty; therefore, it is a way of honouring humans. {'However, the clothing of piety is the best clothing.'} It safeguards against all shameful things such as bad and disgraceful actions, reprehensible morals, and lowly things. It is essential, for without the clothing of piety, other clothes would have no value or importance: Satan can strip them of humans without the clothing of righteousness.
Piety: The shield against the arrows of Satan and whims!
Piety is incredibly important; it is like a protective garment that shields you from disgraceful actions and humiliating behaviours that can tarnish your reputation, honour, and dignity and reflect poorly on you. Such actions and behaviours are of serious consequences on a person: Engaging in shameful acts and disgraceful behaviours reflects poorly on him. The moral aspect of one's life holds tremendous value when it comes to his human worth, his standing in faith, his relationship with Allah (the Almighty), and his future in the Hereafter. There is a poet who drew attention to this captured in a poem that reminds us of the importance of this truth:
'How could you allow yourself to be tarnished,
while keeping your clothes free from dirt?
You seek salvation, yet you walk in the wrong path!
Don't you know that a ship cannot sail on dry land?!'
A person might feel embarrassed if his clothes are stained with dirt, filth, or impurities. Similarly, your soul and dignity deserve the same from you: Do not tarnish them with bad deeds or shameful actions that undermine your worth. The clothing of piety protects you from that; it safeguards your human dignity and your faith. It is the kind of clothing that gives importance to clothes.
Satan wants to strip humanity of these two things. He seeks to even remove people's clothing. Therefore, one can see the tremendous effort put forth by the followers of Satan to strip people of their clothes. They engage in extensive work to mislead people through education, propaganda, media, and by influencing opinions, thoughts, and cultures, all to promote a culture of nudity among people. Their aim is to strip people of their clothes, starting with women, and they have been alarmingly successful in many countries at stripping women from their clothes, exposing them, and uncovering the tempting parts of their bodies. They even went further as to hold many events in many countries around the world where people participate in complete nudity, degrading themselves to the level of animals. This makes them a tool in the hands of Satan and is a degradation of human dignity and a profound denial of the honour that Allah has bestowed upon us—a shocking denial, indeed!
Allah has honoured and dignified humans when He bestowed upon them the means to cover their nakedness. This act of covering is a manifestation of Allah's honour bestowed upon humanity. However, in this era, the followers of Satan strive to keep people away from this covering and to reduce human reality to the state of animals, devoid of this unique attribute that Allah has bestowed upon them.
Therefore, humans are in need of the clothing of piety. As for what a person actually wears to cover his body and nakedness and as adornment, it is one of those blessings that Allah has bestowed upon humans. This blessing is wondrously available, spanning across generations, and has become an entire world in itself—the world of attire—with its wide variety. However, as for the followers of Satan, they attempt to manipulate this blessing in a way that diminishes its value in terms of covering the body, providing protection for humans, and preserving human dignity. They manipulate it, particularly in the realm of fashion, as they design some clothes in a way that does not meet the essential purpose of modesty or even the purpose of adornment. They also try to introduce such clothes along with symbols and gestures that promote vice, corruption, and that which goes against the clothing of piety. A person can reach a fully integrated state when the clothing of piety combines with the clothing that Allah has created and bestowed upon humans to serve as adornment and protection and preserve their dignity and honour.
{'The clothing of piety is the best clothing. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember. O children of Adam'}—O children of Adam, learn from the experience of your father and mother. You should benefit from the experience of your father Adam and your mother Hawwa and beware of Satan to ensure that he cannot deceive you or lead you astray.
{'O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from the garden, stripping them of their clothing to show them their nakedness'}. Therefore, Satan also desires to strip you of everything, aiming to make you like animals, devoid of value and stripped of this remarkable distinction that is meant to honour you. He aims to taint you with despicable deeds, and immoral and wicked behaviours, which bring harm and pose risks to you.He intends to lower you from the rank of honour bestowed upon you by Allah.
Stay alert and beware of Satan's whisperings even though you cannot see him!
{'Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them'}. Satan {'sees you, he and his tribe,}—as well as his soldiers, his assistants, and his followers—{from where you do not see them'}.
In certain circumstances, a person may find himself preoccupied with thinking, deeply engrossed in negative thinking and thoughts that lead him towards some acts of disobedience. These negative thoughts may ignite inclinations and emotions or may provoke anger, driving a person towards certain acts of disobedience. In such situations, Satan may approach and whisper to him. In fact, Satan has numerous soldiers and allies—possibly numbering in millions—dispersed across various regions of the earth to target people. However, a person may not realise that a devil, if not more, is present with him in that situation where he is immersed in his thoughts and believes himself to be alone.
In some cases, a group of devils collaborates to whisper to this or that person, attempting to influence him. Therefore, even in situations where you do not perceive the presence of devils around you, do not assume that there is no one whispering to you, as they remain unseen—you truly cannot see them. They may be present with you, even though you cannot see them. In such moments, while being influenced by whispers, one may not realise that he is under the influence of whispers. You may perceive such whispers as purely your own perspective and thoughts that are free from any external influence. However, in many wrongful actions and misguided attitudes, whether a person engages in a specific act of disobedience that violates established prohibitions, neglects their duties and responsibilities, or fails to uphold some of Allah's commands—for disobedience may violate either a divine command or a divine prohibition—a person may not anticipate being influenced by the whispers of devils. He may not expect that, but in reality, he is influenced by the whispers of devils. His negative and misguided stance, his flawed decisions, and even his shortcomings are all shaped by these whispers.
Humans are susceptible to being influenced by the whispers of devils, even though they cannot see them. Devils may come and find an opportunity to approach when a person has opened a window for them or a door. How does one open these doors and windows for them? When you find yourself in a negative state, whether it's negative thinking or a negative psychological state, you are then opening the window or the door for them. They take advantage of those atmospheres to intensify the feelings stirring within you at that moment, whether it's feelings of desire, anger, or that state of thinking where you have become absorbed in negative and wrongful thinking. Therefore, a person must realise that he may be subjected to the whispers of devils in unexpected ways because they cannot see them. Therefore, it is crucial to remain vigilant and alert. If you find yourself engaging in negative thinking, straying away from the path of Allah and His instructions, be cautious. The devils are around you, whispering to you, so it is important to pay attention and not remain heedless of them.
Despite Satan's power of temptation, the choice remains yours!
{'Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe'}. The devils rely on whispering to humans, who cannot see them. People may perceive themselves as having a pure inclination, untouched by the influence of devils because they cannot see them. However, the reality is entirely different. It is important to note that despite the methods and capabilities of devils in whispering to and influencing humans, it should not reach a level where it deprives you of the ability to make the right decisions and remain steadfast in the right direction.
Allah (the Almighty) has given a crucial conclusion for this lesson, saying, {'Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe'}. Conscious, firm, and sincere faith serves as a link that connects us to Allah, the Almighty. Through this connection, we receive Allah's protection, success, firm standing, and guidance. It also grants us His vast care, guiding us out of darkness into light, enabling us to distinguish between right and falsehood, and helping us remain steadfast during difficult and critical moments. Indeed, the bond of faith with Allah is a profound and significant bond.
Furthermore, the faith-based way of life itself is one that involves self-purification. The more individuals purify themselves, the higher they rise above the influences of devils. This is also true for awareness because Allah (the Almighty) has allowed lawful means for a person to pursue in the right direction and has promised him in his afterlife far beyond what he needs or aspires to—what exceeds his desires and ambitions. No matter what a person desires or aspires to, Allah (the Almighty) has promised in the Hereafter what is greater than all hopes and aspirations. Also, in this worldly life, Allah provides what is sufficient for a person within the bounds of what is lawful and good. The faith-based way of life also helps one acquire prudence and balance.
The same applies to the clothing of piety, as piety helps a person to attain a state of balance, a state of control over his desires and instincts, and a state of discipline. Thus, it helps one remain steadfast on the right path. Therefore, in the realm of faith, various elements converge, establishing a connection between us and Allah (Glory be to Him). Through this connection, we receive His care, assistance, and support. It helps us remain steadfast, increases our guidance and light, and grants us His help. It endears faith to our hearts and makes it appealing to us while making us detest disbelief, defiance, and disobedience, and so on.
Another aspect to consider is that adherence to the right path in this life keeps you away from many traps. This is because one of the factors that affect people is the presence of environments where the influences of Satan prevail, characterised by vices, sins, and promptings that stir inclinations towards wrongdoing or corruption within individuals. Thus, the aspect of faith encompasses many elements that help individuals remain on the right course, ranging from the care of Allah to the profound impact of faith on a person's wisdom and awareness, self-purification, righteous deeds, and avoidance of many harmful actions that affect a person.
Additionally, within the context of faith-based practices like fasting, one gains determination, willpower, and balance in dealing with instincts and desires, leading to equilibrium and self-discipline. Instead of being reckless and uncontrolled, one can achieve a state of balance. This has its importance and great impact on him. Satan lacks knowledge of the unseen and cannot force individuals to act against their will. Therefore, Allah (the Almighty) says, {'Surely, when those who are pious are touched by a glamour from Satan, they become conscious, and at once they are watchful. But as for their brothers, they increase them in error; then they do not stop short'}. He also says, {'He certainly has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. His authority is only over those who take him as a patron and those who associate partners with Him'}.
That is enough for today.
We ask Allah (Glory be to Him) to grant us success in seeking what pleases Him. O Allah! Have mercy on our virtuous martyrs, heal the wounded among us, set free our captives, and grant us victory. You are the Hearer of Prayer!
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
