Salted Fish” comparing the killing of hungry civilians to a morbid version of “Red Light, Green Light,” where people were gunned down before and after brief windows of allowed movement.
According to testimonies, troops operated under open-fire instructions with virtually no accountability. One reservist reported that tank shells, machine guns, and grenade launchers were used to “control the crowd.”
Some soldiers admitted they had never once encountered return fire from the crowds — only civilians, many of them children and elderly, desperate for food.
“Gaza doesn’t interest anyone anymore,” one soldier said. “The loss of human life means nothing.”
Despite the severity of these revelations, no Israeli commanders have been held accountable. The military has launched only limited internal reviews. The Southern Command reportedly approved many of the directives — including the practice of firing at crowds before and after aid drop windows to disperse them.
Even in military briefings, soldiers were never reprimanded for shooting unarmed civilians. In some cases, they were encouraged.
“This goes far beyond failure — it’s collusion,” said Mohammed Al-Khatib, one of the survivors. “How can they allow us to walk into such an obvious trap?”
That “trap” is now backed not just by survivor accounts — but by those pulling the triggers.
