The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that a state of panic has spread among the crews of commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea.
Some of these crews reportedly sent messages via maritime tracking systems (AIS), stating that their members were "Muslims" in an attempt to avoid being targeted by the Yemeni armed forces.
According to the newspaper, this behavior follows a series of sophisticated operations carried out by the Yemeni naval forces.
The newspaper noted that some ships attempted to disguise themselves by claiming that their crews were Chinese or that they were protected by onboard security personnel.
However, so-called "maritime security experts" warned that Yemeni intelligence capabilities are rapidly advancing, making the chances of evading attacks increasingly slim.
The newspaper also reported that insurance premiums for shipments in the Red Sea have risen significantly in recent days.
Israel Hayom stated that the Greek vessel Eternity Sea was among the direct targets, having been struck precisely by Yemeni forces, which resulted in its complete sinking.
The operation was documented by marine cameras and broadcast by Arab media networks.
According to observers, the operation represents a significant escalation in Yemen’s response capabilities, which appear unaffected by American or Israeli deterrence efforts.
Instead, Yemen has regained the initiative in the maritime arena, sending a clear message that no enemy will pass through its territorial or adjacent international waters unchallenged.
