Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi delivered a speech on Sunday marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zaid bin Ali (PBUH), in which he emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from Imam Zaid’s revolution in confronting American-Israeli tyranny and in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people who are facing genocide while more than two billion Muslims look on in silence.

Sayyed al-Houthi described the tragedy and suffering in Gaza as not only a Palestinian catastrophe but a threat to the entire Muslim Ummah, stating:

“The Palestinian people in Gaza are now in the most severe stage of starvation. Children are dying daily from hunger.”

He condemned the Zionist regime for engineering “death traps” under the guise of humanitarian aid, turning relief corridors into mechanisms of extermination.
He added that the people of Gaza are enduring horrific hunger, surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs and two billion Muslims who are watching, helpless and silent.

Sayyed al-Houthi warned that the Ummah’s detachment from its responsibility toward Gaza poses a grave danger both in this world and the Hereafter. He added that this silence reflects a deep moral and spiritual decline in awareness, compassion, and Islamic values.

“The absence of honor and dignity to such an extent reveals the dire need for the Ummah to correct its condition in accordance with God’s law of transformation,” he said.
“To watch the tragic scenes of starving Palestinian children dying before the world is a disgrace—foremost to the Arabs, and to the rest of the Muslim world.”

He pointed out that the horrifying level of inaction has emboldened the Zionist entity and its American backers, giving them confidence that there will be no reaction, no matter how extreme their crimes become.

Lessons from Imam Zaid and Confronting Modern Tyranny,
Sayyed al-Houthi stressed that the central themes of Imam Zaid’s uprising—truth, sacrifice, and resisting oppression—are precisely what the Ummah needs today.

He called on Muslims to live by the Qur'an and rise up against the American-Israeli arrogance, which seeks to enslave, humiliate, and corrupt the Muslim world while desecrating its sacred sites and attempting to erase its Islamic identity.

He stated:“The American-Israeli threat is enormous. The right path—according to the Qur’an, historical experience, and reality—is to move seriously, guided by the Qur’an, relying on Allah, and confronting both their soft war of corruption and disinformation, and their hard war of military aggression, killing, and destruction.”

He affirmed that the correct response to this threat lies in a faith-driven movement, deeply rooted in Qur’anic guidance.

Yemen’s Unshakable Support for Palestine

Sayyed al-Houthi reaffirmed that the Yemeni people remain firmly committed to the cause of Palestine, despite enduring two rounds of military aggression. He noted that Yemen’s stance in solidarity with Gaza has come at a high cost—facing thousands of airstrikes, economic war, blockades, and media campaigns aimed at weakening public resolve.

Yet, he emphasized:

“The Qur’anic awareness and insight of our people have been the reason for their firm stance and unwavering faith. By the grace of Allah, all enemy attempts to turn us away from our faith-based path have failed.”

He concluded by reaffirming that Yemen will continue its course of active and serious engagement—militarily, publicly, and ideologically—guided by the Qur’an in confronting the American-Israeli axis of oppression. He emphasized that this path is not a passing stance but a deeply rooted faith-based commitment, carried by generations across the Ummah.

“Our position in support of the Palestinian people is firm, and our confrontation with American and Israeli tyranny will continue. We are confident in Allah’s true promise of victory.”
