The United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) expressed its appreciation for the unlimited support from the Sanaa government, which contributes to facilitating its work and achieving its humanitarian goals.

This came during a meeting that gathered the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sanaa government, Jamal Amer, and the Acting Head of UNMHA and Acting Chair of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, Mari Yamashita.

At the meeting, Amer affirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to empowering the mission and removing obstacles to the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement, emphasizing support for comprehensive peace as a strategic option that guarantees the rights of the Yemeni people.

The minister also warned of the danger of mines threatening the lives of civilians in Hodeida and called on the mission to activate its role in mine clearance and provide the necessary support.

He called for announcing the party obstructing the convening of the Joint Redeployment Committee meetings, stressing that this would expose the actual obstructions to peace and put an end to procrastination.
