Human Rights Watch has confirmed that the recent Zionist entity’s strike on a media center in Sanaa on September 10 underscores the severe and escalating dangers faced by journalists in Yemen.
In a newly published report, the organization documented the airstrike carried out by the Zionist aggression—one of several that targeted both the capital Sanaa and the Al-Jawf region that day. The coordinated attacks resulted in the killing of at least 35 individuals, including members of the press.
The organization stressed that the neighborhood hit was a densely populated residential area located near Sanaa’s Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to the report, the airstrikes occurred in broad daylight, at a time when many residents were walking through the streets or driving to their destinations—further increasing the likelihood of civilian casualties.
Human Rights Watch emphasized that radio and television facilities are civilian objects and must not be treated as military targets.
The organization further noted that such patterns of targeting are far from unprecedented; it has previously documented similar assaults by the Zionist occupation on journalists in the occupied Palestinian territories and in Lebanon.
