Hamas official Majed Abu Qutaish warned of the escalating Zionist settlement policies in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, stressing that the establishment of a new outpost in Anata, along with expansion in Hizma and Jaba, represents a new chapter in the ongoing aggression against the city through demolition, displacement, and land seizure.
In a press statement, Abu Qutaish said that the eviction orders issued by the Zionist authorities in Qalandiya are an attempt to legitimize land theft, after the Zionist “finance minister” reactivated old confiscation orders to seize hundreds of dunams from Qalandiya and Beit Hanina.
He added that this escalation is part of the colonial E1 plan, which aims to connect the “Ma’ale Adumim” settlement to Jerusalem, creating a complete geographic separation between the north and south of the West Bank—threatening surrounding Palestinian towns and undermining their natural continuity.
Abu Qutaish warned of the grave implications of these policies and called for urgent international action to stop the Zionist regime’s settlement expansion and protect Jerusalem and West Bank governorates from annexation and displacement schemes.
He also urged the people of Jerusalem and the West Bank to remain steadfast, rooted in their land, and to strengthen their resolve in resisting settlement and Judaization efforts, affirming that “our presence on our land is the first line of defense for our identity and our rights.”
