Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Tuesday that one of the axes of the 12th Brigade, affiliated with the Baghdad Belt Operations Command, was subjected to an Israeli-American aerial attack.
The PMF stated that the “treacherous attack was carried out by hostile aircraft targeting the Al-Nabaei axis,” resulting in the injury of three of its members, in addition to material damage.
Earlier at dawn, five people were killed in a strike that targeted a house in the Jadriya area in central Baghdad, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent. This came shortly after rocket and drone attacks targeted the US Embassy inside the Green Zone.
Security sources reported that the attack was carried out in two phases, leading to rising smoke from the embassy complex. This coincided with shelling that targeted the US “Victory Base” at Baghdad International Airport, alongside the presence of US warplanes flying in the airspace.
On Monday evening, the Green Zone also witnessed the crash of a drone on Al-Rasheed Hotel without causing any losses, amid a security deployment and the closure of the surrounding area.
These developments come amid escalating US-Israeli attacks on Iraq, which have resulted in casualties, while resistance groups have intensified their operations against US bases in the country and the wider region.
