The Hamas movement called on Sunday for obligating the Zionist Enemy to implement the provisions of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, in order to allow the start of serious dialogue on the issues of the second phase.
In a press statement, the movement said that its delegation held a series of meetings and discussions over the past week in Cairo with mediators and a number of Palestinian factions, with the aim of completing the implementation of the first phase provisions as stipulated in the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement.
It explained that these efforts come amid the Zionist Enemy's failure to comply with most of its commitments and its continued daily violations of the agreement.
Hamas affirmed that it has dealt “positively” with the course of the discussions, stressing its keenness to continue communication and coordination with mediators in order to reach an acceptable agreement based on the initiative of the American President Donald Trump and the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement, in a way that would lead to ending the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
It added that any agreement must include the withdrawal of Zionist Enemy forces from the entire Gaza Strip and the start of a reconstruction process.
The movement stressed the need to obligate the Zionist Enemy to implement the provisions of the first phase, considering that this constitutes a key entry point for moving to serious negotiations on the issues of the second phase.
On October 8, 2023, the Zionist Enemy launched a war in the Gaza Strip with American support, during which more than 72,000 Palestinians were killed and more than 171,000 others were injured.
Despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect since October 2025, the living conditions of Palestinians in Gaza have not seen noticeable improvement, amid the Zionist Enemy's evasion of fulfilling its security and humanitarian obligations under the agreement.
