Beit-Lehem Governorate is witnessing an escalating Zionist offensive targeting what remains of the area’s lands, with the aim of expanding settlements and displacing Palestinians.
In the town of Battir, west of Beit-Lehem, Zionists settlers under the protection of the Zionist enemy forces have begun bulldozing land in the areas of al-Qasir and Tuf Abdullah in order to pave a one-kilometer colonial road, establish infrastructure, and install electricity poles to extend a power network to an outpost established in those two areas nearly two years ago.
The total area of land in these two locations exceeds 100 dunams, which has been seized for the purpose of expanding the settlement outpost and transforming it into the settlement of "Heletz". Landowners have reportedly been prevented from accessing their property for the past two years.
At the same time, settlers protected by the Zionist enemy forces installed a communications tower on residents’ land in the Al-Matineh area east of the village of Kisan, east of Beit-Lehem. Residents of the village warned that the communications tower poses a danger to their lives and paves the way for the seizure of additional land while preventing owners from reaching it.
Residents also noted that settlers last week erected a tent in the Dahr Al-Mazrab area south of the village, close to Palestinian homes, and raised Israeli flags over it.
In Beit Jala, west of Beit-Lehem, Zionist enemy forces previously demolished a shack at the eastern entrance of the town of Al-Khader belonging to citizen Ziad Hussein Dar Issa, citing lack of permits.
The number of violations and attacks carried out by Zionist enemy forces in Beit-Lehem Governorate during 2025 has reportedly exceeded 2,000 incidents.
These violations included 683 arrests, 127 cases of physical assault and abuse during military operations, and 133 injuries caused by live ammunition and tear gas grenades, in addition to 11 fatalities and 56 demolitions of homes as well as agricultural and commercial facilities.
Zionist enemy forces also carried out 315 military raids and incursions across various parts of the governorate, alongside 464 permanent and temporary checkpoints that obstructed residents’ movement, and 68 closures of entrances to villages, towns, and cities.
Settler attacks reached 215 incidents targeting residents, their property, and farms, in addition to 69 cases of seizure of private property, and 39 incidents involving vandalism, land bulldozing, and the cutting down of fruit-bearing trees—particularly olive trees—as well as the destruction of agricultural crops.
