Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates renewed its rejection of the continued hosting of US military bases by some Gulf states, saying such facilities are used to target countries in the region in service of the Zionist project and to protect the Israeli enemy.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry praised the honorable stance of the Iranian armed forces in responding to US aggression and targeting American bases in the region.
It also commended Iran’s role in deterring the Israeli enemy from carrying out attacks against the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and in reinforcing the principle of the “unity of fronts.”
The ministry reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s right to respond to any future attacks against its territory and national security, while condemning attempts by certain regional governments to portray themselves as victims despite providing political cover, protection, and financial support to foreign forces engaged in aggression.
It warned that such policies would ultimately harm those governments and their peoples, stressing that the confrontation being waged by the “honorable forces of the nation” is a collective battle in which surrender is not an option. The ministry added that the enemy’s reliance on military power had failed to achieve its objectives.
The statement also praised the resilience and steadfastness shown across the countries of the Axis of Resistance, from Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iraq to Yemen, despite the hardships they face. The ministry concluded by reaffirming Yemen’s unwavering principled and faith-based support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In recent days, tensions escalated again after US forces carried out new strikes against Iranian military targets near the Strait of Hormuz, including sites on Qeshm Island and in southern Iran, prompting Iranian retaliatory attacks against US military assets in the Gulf. The renewed exchanges have threatened ongoing efforts to preserve a fragile ceasefire and prevent a wider regional war.
This latest Yemeni statement reflects growing regional alignment with Iran following the renewed US military actions and the broader confrontation involving the United States, Iran, and the Israeli enemy.
