The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, has confirmed that the rehabilitation and equipping of the two runways at Sana'a International Airport, which were targeted by Saudi aggression warplanes today, will be completed within a very short period. He noted that the work will be carried out in accordance with international specifications and requirements applicable in global airports.
Minister Qahim explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Ministry of Transport and Public Works will immediately commence work and preparation on the two runways. This comes in execution of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, to quickly ensure the readiness of the main runway for the takeoff and landing of aircraft.
The Minister pointed to the continuity of civil flights between Sana'a and Tehran, alongside the upcoming opening of new international destinations soon. He emphasized that providing services to citizens and facilitating the travel of patients, students, and humanitarian cases are among the most basic humanitarian entitlements of the Yemeni people, which will not be neglected.
Qahim stressed that the unjust blockade and ongoing attacks on vital and national installations will be met with a firm response from the Armed Forces. He pointed out that the Yemeni people will not stand idly by in the face of the continued blockade of ports and airports, and the procrastination in implementing the agreed-upon understandings and the roadmap.
He renewed his emphasis on the keenness of the Leader, al-Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badruddin al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, to secure the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people and break the blockade imposed on them for years. He concluded by noting that bets on closing the airspace have failed, and that the Yemeni tribes and the army stand in complete cohesion to break the blockade and establish national sovereignty.
