The United States launched a series of strikes early Thursday targeting various regions across southern Iran, resulting in the injury of two people on Qeshm Island, while search operations continue for three individuals trapped under rubble following a strike on a residential home on the island.
According to Iran's official news agency, IRNA, two injuries have been confirmed so far from the U.S. aggression on Qeshm Island. In the same context, the Deputy Governor of Hormozgan confirmed that a hostile attack targeted a residential house on the island, noting that search and rescue operations remain underway to locate three individuals who remain under the debris.
In Khuzestan Governorate, the deputy governor announced that areas surrounding the cities of Shadegan, Ahvaz, and Abadan were subjected to U.S. missile attacks, also confirming that areas near the city of Arvandkenar were targeted.
Iranian television reported hearing two explosions in the port of Bandar Abbas, likely stemming from defensive activities by the Iranian Armed Forces. It also reported the sounds of explosions on Abu Musa and Kish islands, as well as in the maritime area surrounding Qeshm Island.
For its part, Tasnim News Agency noted the ongoing heavy firing of U.S. missiles from Kuwaiti territory toward Iran, while Fars News Agency confirmed an explosion was heard in Bushehr Governorate, later reporting multiple explosions on Kish Island. Additionally, Nour News Agency stated that several explosions were heard in the city of Ahvaz.
Earlier, the U.S. military announced launching "attacks" on Iran, with U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stating that its forces targeted dozens of IRGC-affiliated objectives, emphasizing that over 50,000 U.S. troops remain deployed across the Middle East.
The United States continues its strikes against areas in Iran in violation of the memorandum of understanding reached in Switzerland last June, as American aggression renewed following a brief multi-day pause in attacks.
In response, Iran continues to counter U.S. aggression by targeting strategic bases and positions belonging to the U.S. military in the region. It is also confronting attempts by vessels to pass through illegal corridors encouraged by Washington in the Strait of Hormoz, which remains closed due to the ongoing hostilities.
Regarding the Iranian retaliatory measures, Iranian television revealed that missile strikes targeting Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base in Jordan were carried out based on intelligence received by Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters. It explained that the operation followed Washington's redeployment of A-10 and F-15 fighter jets alongside new military systems at the base, and that the IRGC Aerospace Force carried out a "surprise operation" that successfully destroyed its targets.
Iranian television affirmed that all movements of U.S. forces in the region are "under surveillance," and that the IRGC and the Iranian military will strike specified targets "at the earliest opportunity" if required.
