The Spokesperson for the United Nations, Stéphane Dujarric, affirmed that unilateral US sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran ultimately harm ordinary people.

In a statement to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA," Dujarric explained that the UN Secretary-General "has repeatedly expressed his concern over the increasing use of unilateral sanctions, stressing that sanctions, wherever applied, ultimately harm ordinary people."

In the context of the discussion, reference was made to how US sanctions imposed on Iran endanger people's access to medicines and aviation safety, and whether they constitute a violation of the UN Charter and a crime against humanity.

Dujarric stated: "Look, what I can say is that the Secretary-General has repeatedly expressed his concern over the increasing use of unilateral sanctions; sanctions, wherever applied, ultimately harm ordinary people."

The United States, which has imposed sanctions on Iran for decades, seeks to achieve its dream of Tehran's surrender through economic warfare and expanding the scope of sanctions, following its defeat in a joint military war with the entity against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the resistance of the Iranian armed forces and the Iranian people.
