Italy's public prosecutor has included Israeli occupation Minister of Police Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli occupation forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, and other senior officials in an investigation into the treatment of activists detained aboard Gaza-bound flotillas.
The investigation concerns suspected torture, kidnapping, bodily injury, theft, and other offenses, the Italian prosecutor's office announced on Friday.
According to Reuters, the probe followed complaints filed by 50 Italian citizens detained while participating in missions organized by the Global Sumud Flotilla in 2025 and 2026. The investigation includes Israeli occupation Security Minister Israel Katz, Zamir, and senior police and prison officials. Ben-Gvir had already been included in the probe.
