The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that the number of children martyred in the Gaza Strip since the announcement of the “ceasefire” in October 2025 has reached 351.

In a statement, UNICEF Regional Director for the "Middle East" and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder, called on the Zionist enemy’s authorities to ensure transparent and rigorous accountability in cases where children are killed or sustain injuries that cause permanent disabilities.

He explained that over the past six days, eight children had been martyred and another 20 injured. He called on the enemy entity to take effective measures to deter further violence, respect the principles of distinction, and ensure that children receive the special protection guaranteed to them under international humanitarian law.

Beigbeder said that this level of violence against children was unacceptable. He added that children who survive the attacks face additional obstacles to their physical and psychological recovery due to the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system.

Last week, UNICEF reported that approximately 800,000 children in Gaza remained displaced, while an estimated 60,000 children had lost one or both parents during the war or since the “ceasefire.”

The organization affirmed that nearly every child requires mental health support amid continued displacement and the deterioration of essential services.

In the same context, a United Nations investigative commission accused the Israeli enemy entity of deliberately targeting Palestinian children, affirming that this had become a major factor in the ongoing genocide in the Strip.

The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory stated that the Israeli enemy’s authorities and security forces had deliberately targeted Palestinian children, resulting in acts constituting genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in the Gaza Strip, as well as war crimes in the West Bank.
