Ceremony commemorating Ashura (according to the Hijri calendar) began this Sunday morning in several Arab and Islamic countries.
Large Crowds in Lebanon
In Lebanon, participants gathered at Sayyed al-Shuhada Complex and the surrounding streets in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
From there, the large Ashura procession set off toward the Kafaat area, where Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a speech commemorating the anniversary.
Other ceremonies were also held in various Lebanese regions, particularly in the south and the Bekaa.
The Lebanese commemorate this occasion after the Zionist aggression against the country, with pictures of the nation's martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyr Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din, other martyr leaders, and others being raised in the processions.
Ceremonies were held yesterday, Saturday, in southern border villages, where participants in the Muharram 9th procession passed through the rubble of buildings destroyed by the Israeli enemy in the village of Kafr Kila.
Husayni processions in Iraq
The 10th of Muharram ceremonies have also begun in Iraq, with pilgrims flocking to the holy shrines in Najaf and Karbala.
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced that 1,176,311 pilgrims had entered the holy shrines since the beginning of Muharram until yesterday, Saturday.
The ministry added that "the number of registered processions inside the holy city of Karbala reached 833, including 10 foreign processions from outside Iraq to participate in the commemoration of the 10th of Muharram."
The ministry indicated that "the Civil Defense Directorate has begun deploying its units around the Old City to implement rapid response plans to prevent accidents and fires."
Large-scale marches in Iran
Large marches are taking place in various Iranian cities and provinces. Al-Mayadeen's correspondent noted that this year's Ashura ceremonies will be different in the country following the Israeli aggression.
The correspondent stated that this year's Ashura marches are scheduled to bear the slogan "Iran of Hussein, Victorious Forever." He added that the flags, which are traditionally black on this occasion, will be replaced with the Iranian flag
.Thousands gather in Pakistan
Ashura ceremonies began in Nishtar Park in Karachi, where thousands are participating in the commemoration, according to police, who announced tight security measures across the country.
Pakists participated in Ashura march yesterday, Saturday, on wooden boats in the interior of Dal Lake in Kashmir.
