Approximately 50,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the military restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities around the city and on the roads leading to the mosque.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem reported that large crowds flocked to Al-Aqsa, defying the obstacles imposed by the occupation forces at the entrances to Jerusalem, particularly at Bab al-Amoud and Bab al-Asbat, where identity checks were conducted and many young men were prevented from entering.

Local sources stated that occupation forces closed the roads leading to Bab al-Asbat and prevented vehicle passage, while settlers stormed the area under heavy security escort.

The occupation authorities continue to bar thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank from entering Jerusalem to pray at Al-Aqsa except with special permits, as part of a systematic policy to restrict freedom of worship and access to the holy sites.
