Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, released video footage on Sunday evening documenting a complex and high-level operation carried out by its fighters.
The operation targeted an Israeli armored personnel carrier in the Absan al-Kabira area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, with the objective of capturing Israeli soldiers.
The video shows reconnaissance efforts monitoring the concentration of Israeli military bulldozers and vehicles in the area prior to the ambush.
It also documents the planting of explosive devices and the positioning of fighters waiting for the vehicle to enter the ambush zone, where they used an upgraded shock-charge (Barq).
The footage captures the fighters’ preparations to capture an Israeli soldier. After remotely detonating the device and triggering a powerful explosion, an intense gun battle ensued between the resistance fighters and Israeli forces.
Saraya al-Quds confirmed that the intervention of nearby Israeli forces disrupted the attempt to capture soldiers, resulting in the death of the targeted soldier and the martyrdom of several resistance fighters.
