The staff of the Dhamar branch of the Yemen Oil Company carried out a practical exercise to apply civil defense skills and procedures for responding to emergency fire incidents.

The drill included a realistic simulation of fire outbreaks, reporting procedures, initial firefighting actions, evacuation measures, protection of lives and property, training on the use of safety systems, and the evacuation of individuals injured in fire-related incidents.

Director of the company’s Dhamar branch, Ahmed Al-Ashbat, explained that the practical exercise concludes a training program aimed at enhancing employees’ skills in civil defense and rescue operations when dealing with fire emergencies.

He highlighted the importance of the program in strengthening safety and security measures, raising readiness to handle potential emergencies, preparing staff to respond to fires, containing their spread, extinguishing them, and minimizing resulting damage.

For his part, Director of the Civil Defense Authority’s branch, Colonel Mujahid Al-Asadi, reviewed the efforts and programs carried out by the authority, including training government employees in rescue operations, emergency response, and the use of firefighting equipment to enhance preparedness, protect lives, and safeguard property. 

He also stressed the need to promote public awareness of safety and prevention measures to reduce fire incidents.

The exercise was attended by Deputy Directors of the Oil Company branch: Hashim Al-Washli, Mohammed Al-Ashmali, Hassan Al-Yousfi, Abdulqawi Al-Tuwaiti, and Abdullah Al-Humairi.
