The Public Prosecution Office in Amran Governorate has released 288 inmates from the central correctional facility, the pretrial detention center, and district prisons.

During the release process—attended by First Deputy Governor Abdulaziz Abu Kharfasha—President of the Court of Appeals’ Prosecution Office, Judge Hadi Eidha, explained that the release followed the completion of all required legal procedures conducted during the field inspection carried out by the Presidential Committee.

The committee included Judge Rajeh Zaid, Judge Hamid Al-Ra’i, deputy prosecutors, and the directors of the central prison and the pretrial detention facility.

He clarified that those released included individuals who had served three-quarters of their sentence and had no prior convictions or outstanding private claims, in addition to a number of financially distressed inmates whose court-ordered dues were settled by charitable contributors.

The release also covered individuals still under investigation, based on the necessary legal guarantees.

The release event at the central correctional facility was attended by several deputy prosecutors, along with the directors of the Criminal Investigation Department, the central prison, and the pretrial detention facility.
