NBC reported, citing local police, that eight children were killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday evening.
The American network stated that Shreveport police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the block of 300 West 79th Street shortly after 6:00 AM.
Shreveport police in Louisiana announced that the shooting was related to domestic violence.
Police spokesman Christopher Bourdillon said, "This is a horrific scene unlike anything we've ever seen."
Bourdillon described the crime scene as "extensive," extending to two homes in the block and a third on adjacent Harrison Street.
During a press conference, Bourdillon said that 10 people were shot, eight of whom died. The victims ranged in age from one to 14 years old.
