The Palestinian Prisoner Society announced that more than 23,000 cases of arrest have been recorded in the West Bank, including occupied al-Quds, since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip, indicating an escalation in Israeli repression campaigns across Palestinian territories.

In a report issued today, the organization explained that this figure includes all individuals who were subjected to arrest, whether they remain in detention by Zionist authorities or were later released. It also includes those detained from their homes, at military checkpoints, or those who were forced to surrender under pressure, in addition to cases of detention as hostages.

The report noted that the number of arrests among women has exceeded 700 cases, including women from the West Bank, the territories of 1948, as well as women from the Gaza Strip who were arrested in the West Bank.

Regarding children, the report documented approximately 1,800 cases of arrest. It also stated that more than 240 journalists have been detained, with 43 still in custody, including three female journalists. The report further recorded the death of a journalist inside Israeli prisons, identified as Marwan Harzallah from Nablus.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society pointed out that arrest campaigns are accompanied by escalating violations, including severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, widespread destruction of homes, and the confiscation of personal property, including vehicles, money, and gold jewelry.

It also highlighted extensive destruction of infrastructure, particularly in northern West Bank refugee camps such as Tulkarm and Jenin, while field interrogations affecting thousands of Palestinians continue.

The report emphasized that these campaigns are also accompanied by field killings, which in some cases have targeted members of detainees’ families, amid a broader escalation across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
