The Zionist Enemy has carried out new demolition operations in the village of al-Sir in al-Negeb, located in occupied Palestinian land since 1948, as bulldozers returned on Sunday to destroy residents’ homes as part of ongoing actions targeting the area.

Israeli bulldozers demolished homes in al-Sir, continuing a campaign that had already seen dozens of houses destroyed. The demolitions had previously paused following protests in al-Negeb after the events in the village of Tarabin al-Sana more than two months ago.

Jumaa Al-Zabarqa, an official from the Steering Committee of Bedouins in al-Negeb, said in press statements that demolition bulldozers stormed the village accompanied by large units of Zionist "police" and special forces, and began demolishing dozens of citizens’ homes.

Al-Zabarqa added that these operations resume what began in December of last year, when dozens of homes inside the village were demolished. He emphasized that residents have lived in the area for decades, while Zionist forces claim it is a “military zone.”

He pointed out that Zionist authorities had previously relocated residents to temporary housing within the village under the pretext of developing infrastructure, but they have remained in temporary conditions until today.

He continued that the homes targeted today are modest structures made of zinc and sheet metal, demolished under the pretext of lacking permits, despite the land being inhabited by its original owners. He noted that the previous campaign had resulted in the demolition of 52 homes.

As a result of this operation, around 1,500 residents now face the risk of displacement without shelter or basic means of living. These measures come as part of a plan that aims to displace the population of al-Negeb, estimated at around 170,000 people.
