The Israeli enemy continued its military escalation against Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank on Sunday, carrying out attacks, arrests, and settler assaults despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect in October 2025.

In Gaza, Palestinian fisherman Mohammed Mousa Abu Jiab was killed after being targeted at sea off Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, while Israeli naval forces detained four other fishermen in Gaza waters.

Israeli artillery also shelled several areas in northern Gaza, while military vehicles fired smoke and illumination rounds around Al-Bureij refugee camp. Overnight strikes caused extensive damage to displacement tents after an attack on a house belonging to the Zarab family in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025 has risen to 951 martyrs and 2,984 wounded, in addition to the recovery of 782 bodies from various areas of the Strip.

The ministry added that the overall toll since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023 has reached 72,961 martyrs and 173,092 injuries.

Meanwhile, Emergency and Ambulance Services Director Fares Afana warned that ambulance operations in Gaza face the risk of a complete shutdown due to restrictions on the entry of spare parts, oils, and batteries needed to maintain emergency vehicles. He noted that 80 percent of the sector’s capabilities have already been destroyed, while the remaining resources could cease functioning at any moment, threatening to deepen the humanitarian crisis.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces and settlers intensified attacks against Palestinians and their property. Settlers set fire to agricultural lands in Al-Mughayyir village east of Ramallah, while Israeli forces reportedly prevented firefighting crews from reaching the area. Settlers also attacked Palestinian vehicles near Bethlehem and close to the Efrat settlement.

Israeli forces carried out raids across Jenin, Tubas, Tulkarm, Ramallah, Al-Khalil, and occupied Al-Quds, arresting several Palestinians, including the parents of political analyst Bilal Al-Shobaki in Beit Ummar north of Al-Khalil.

The raids coincided with heightened Israeli security measures following a vehicle-ramming operation south of Bethlehem that reportedly injured an Israeli settler, prompting extensive search operations in the area.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that Israeli forces and settlers carried out 1,659 attacks during May alone, concentrated mainly in Al-Khalil and Ramallah, followed by Nablus and Bethlehem, highlighting an ongoing pattern of systematic targeting across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The ceasefire agreement brokered by Arab and US mediators entered into force on October 11, 2025, following months of Israeli aggression. However, Palestinian authorities and rights organizations have repeatedly reported continued Israeli violations, including airstrikes, artillery attacks, arrests, land seizures, and settler violence.

Gaza’s health sector and emergency services have also faced severe strain due to extensive destruction of infrastructure and restrictions on the entry of essential supplies, while settlement expansion and military raids continue across the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds.
