An informed source said that the claim regarding the agreement being signed next Sunday in Geneva is “pure falsehood,” Fars News Agency reported.

The news agency added that claims by US President Donald Trump and certain foreign media outlets suggesting that the agreement has been finalized and will be signed on Sunday in Geneva are entirely false.

It further reported that both the proposed Sunday date and Geneva as the venue for the signing have been completely and categorically denied.

What is happening?

A memorandum between the United States and Iran aimed at halting the war in the Gulf could be signed as soon as Sunday, according to a Western source cited by Reuters on Friday. Geneva is emerging as the most likely location for the signing.

The source said the wording of the memorandum is still being finalized, with Iran maintaining that any agreement must also bring an end to the Israeli war on Lebanon.

Negotiators are aiming to complete the text by Saturday, paving the way for a possible signing by US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf, as per the report.

Iranian media reveal details of potential Iran-US draft MoU

Iran has firmly refused to capitulate to recent American military and diplomatic pressure aimed at forcing changes to its 14-article proposal, Tasnim News Agency reported, citing informed sources.

Despite direct US military actions and leverage applied through Qatari mediation by President Donald Trump, Tehran rejected newly proposed amendments from Washington, according to Tasnim's sources.

The United States has, in fact, communicated through the Qatari mediator that it is withdrawing its latest amendments as they were no longer necessary.

However, the sources emphasized that the draft text must still undergo formal review and receive final approval from Iran’s relevant governing institutions. Until that process is complete, the sources added, all media speculations regarding a finalized deal remain entirely inaccurate.
