Lebanese Economy Minister Amer Bisat said the Israeli war on Lebanon has inflicted severe damage on the country's economy, with losses estimated at around $20 billion, warning that the impact has effectively pushed Lebanon back to "square one."
In an interview with Sputnik Radio on Friday, Bisat highlighted the significant economic burden stemming from the displacement crisis caused by the war, noting that the Lebanese state bears full responsibility for supporting displaced people at a monthly cost estimated between $80 million and $90 million.
He explained that the displacement issue extends beyond its political and demographic dimensions, carrying substantial economic consequences that deepen the challenges facing the Lebanese people.
