Israeli occupation forces (IOF) swept through towns and cities across the occupied West Bank overnight into Friday, storming homes and businesses and detaining Palestinians in the latest round of what has become a nightly ritual of incursions.
The heaviest activity was concentrated in Nablus, where troops infiltrated several city neighborhoods as well as the outlying towns of Tell, Salem, Awarta, and al-Masaken al-Shaabiya, ransacking homes and detaining seven Palestinians, according to security and local sources.
In Tell, soldiers commandeered one home outright, turning it into a makeshift military post as armed settlers massed alongside troops across the village. Nearby, in Surra, forces carried out a separate raid.
South of Beita, Palestinian youths confronted settlers who opened fire with live rounds in the Bir Saleh area; no injuries were reported.
Tear gas reaches medical complex
Further south, in Ramallah and al-Bireh, forces raided Birzeit, Beitunia, al-Bireh city, the al-Masyoun neighborhood, and Qaddura refugee camp, breaking into commercial warehouses and the local Popular Committee office.
Tear gas fired during the raids drifted toward the Palestine Medical Complex, with canisters landing near the hospital grounds.
Beit Lahm, Tulkarm, and Salfit also targeted
In Beit Lahm, IOF troops raided Marah Rabah village, al-Saff Street, and the Wadi Shaheen area, searching homes before detaining former detainee Hussein Obeidat at his residence.
To the north, in Tulkarm, raids hit Attil, Allar, and Anabta, where soldiers conducted extensive searches and detained a young man during a raid on his family's home.
In Salfit, forces ransacked homes and rounded up several young men for field interrogation before releasing them. Israeli authorities have not yet released a final tally of those detained across the operations
Over 11,000 attacks recorded in first half of 2026
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported 11,074 attacks on Palestinians and their land and property in just the first half of 2026, in a tally spanning raids, arrests, checkpoints, land seizures, settlement expansion, and settler violence.
The figures echo a warning issued by the United Nations two days earlier, which found that settler violence and land annexation in the West Bank are intensifying two years after the International Court of Justice ruled "Israel's" occupation unlawful.
The UN described settler attacks and outpost construction as having reached "unprecedented levels" and urged states to act to bring the occupation to an end.
