Reuters reported, citing informed sources, that the headquarters of Saudi Aramco in the city of Dhahran sustained severe damage as a result of the attack that targeted it yesterday.
The sources explained that the attack caused a fire at the company’s headquarters that spread across several floors.
This comes after the Yemeni Armed Forces announced earlier on Wednesday that they had carried out a special operation targeting Aramco in Dhahran, in the Eastern Province, as well as King Khalid International Airport and the Aramco refinery in Riyadh.
The Armed Forces also stated in their statement that the operations were carried out using ballistic missiles, with the strikes achieving precise hits and causing destruction and fires at the targeted sites deep inside Saudi territory.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, the Saudi Ministry of Energy announced that a fire had broken out in one of the administrative buildings belonging to the oil company Aramco in the eastern Saudi city of Dhahran, with no injuries reported, following an attack on the building on Tuesday evening.
These developments come after the Yemeni Armed Forces warned all employees and citizens present near any Saudi Aramco oil facility to evacuate and move away from the sites, as they are legitimate targets.
The Armed Forces also warned that any attack on the capital, Sana’a, would be met with a harsh and painful response in Riyadh.
It is worth noting that the Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations come in response to the Saudi aggression, which, since its escalation, has resulted in hundreds of citizens being killed and wounded, alongside attacks on the capital, Sana’a, and several Yemeni governorates.
