Two infants died in the Gaza Strip yesterday evening, Thursday, due to malnutrition and a shortage of baby formula amid the ongoing Israeli blockade and aggression on the Strip.
Local sources reported that the infants' families buried their bodies at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, after they lost their lives as a result of deprivation of the most basic healthcare and nutritional needs.
In a related context, medical sources warned of an imminent disaster threatening the lives of infants in the Gaza Strip due to the severe shortage of food and basic medical care in light of the enemy's intransigence and its prevention of the entry of aid.
According to the sources, the number of deaths due to food and medicine shortages in Gaza has risen to 244, most of them children and the elderly, amid the continued blockade of vital supplies.
In its daily report yesterday, Thursday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll by the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 56,259 martyrs and 132,458 wounded, including 103 martyrs and 219 wounded within hours.
The Ministry also warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in shelters and displacement camps, where citizens live in tragic health and environmental conditions, lacking food and drinking water sources, and the spread of infectious diseases due to the extreme heat and lack of personal hygiene supplies.
With full American support, the Israeli enemy has continued its genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international appeals.
