An Israeli major was killed during fighting in southern Lebanon earlier on Tuesday, according to Israeli media reports.

The report stated that the officer served as a company commander in the elite Maglan special forces unit, one of the Israeli military’s most prominent commando formations.

In a related development, the shooting operation carried out by a Hezbollah fighter earlier on Tuesday, which resulted in the death of an Israeli officer, took place "nearly 2.5 kilometers from the border inside an area under full Israeli control", according to Israeli Kan 11 channel.

The Israeli military spokesperson confirmed the "killing of a major who served as deputy company commander in Battalion 7008 of the 551st Brigade during operations in southern Lebanon."

It is worth noting that multiple Israeli soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon as a result of ongoing battles, explosive devices, and drone strikes. In short, the number of Israeli occupation forces killed over the past few weeks has risen, with overall military fatalities continuing to mount.  

Hezbollah expands scope of fire, FPVs hit IOF in settlements

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah announced a new set of military operations targeting enemy assets inside Lebanon and across the occupied border, in defense of Lebanon against the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Hezbollah announced an operation carried out on Monday, May 18, at 4:00 pm, against Israeli soldiers positioned in a tent in the Southern Lebanese town of Debl with an advanced attack drone, achieving a direct hit. 

May 19 operations

The first operation of the day was carried out at 8:00 am when Hezbollah's fighters targeted an Israeli communications vehicle in al-Taybeh with an FPV drone. The vehicle was seen burning following impact. 

At 10:00 am, an Israeli gathering of soldiers and their vehicles west of the town of Arab al-Aramsheh in northern occupied Palestine was targeted with a swarm of one-way attack drones. 

At 10:55 am, the Naqoura maritime site was targeted with a swarm of attack drones. 

At 11:30 am, Hezbollah targeted an Israeli troop gathering in Beit Lif using artillery shells. 

At 1:25 pm, Hezbollah's fighters struck an Iron Dome platform in the Jal al-Allam site using an FPV, fully destroying it. 

Later, at 2:00 pm, an Israeli gathering of soldiers and their vehicles in Rshaf was targeted with a rocket barrage. 

Concurrently, Hezbollah targeted an Israeli military vehicle in the illegal settlement of Misgav Am with an FPV and achieved a direct hit. Israeli media had reported several casualties. 

Hezbollah targeted an Israeli troop gathering in Adaisseh using a swarm of attack drones also at 2:00 pm.

At 2:30 pm, Hezbollah targeted an Iron Dome platform in Margaliot using an FPV, fully destroying it. 

At 4:00 pm, a newly established Israeli site in Maroun al-Ras was targeted with a swarm of attack drones. 

At 4:30 pm, an Israeli military vehicle at the al-Qawzah triangle was targeted with an FPV drone. Hezbollah confirmed an accurate hit.

15 minutes later, Hezbollah targeted an Israeli troop gathering in Ramieh using an FPV, achieving an accurate strike.

Hezbollah's military media also published footage documenting operations carried out throughout the week against Israeli assets, soldiers, and more, in South Lebanon.
