Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that the ongoing talks between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman are bilateral and do not concern any other party, pointing out that the topic of the talks—reaching a mechanism that achieves Iran's interests—is not new, but rather began a long time ago.

Baghaei reaffirmed that the status of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to what it was before the war, explaining that the talks between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz have no connection to opening or closing the strait, particularly given that its closure resulted from obstacles caused by the United States and the imposed naval blockade.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman pointed out that, according to Clause 5 of the memorandum of understanding, the future management of the Strait of Hormuz was slated to be conducted by Iran in consultation with the Sultanate of Oman and through dialogue with countries in the region.

He explained that during the first 22 or 23 days of the memorandum's implementation, the northern lane of the strait was completely safe and vessels were passing through it; however, before the expiration of the 30-day timeframe designated for maritime traffic to return to its pre-war state, the aggressor party committed an act of aggression against Iran.

Baghaei stressed that Iran will not back down from its positions due to threats and media pressure, nor will the interests of the Islamic Republic be harmed by the statements and threats of US officials. He noted that the repeated pattern of threats by US officials over the past two years translated into two actual wars but failed to yield any results for them.

In the context of diplomatic activity, Baghaei explained that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's communications with officials in Pakistan and Turkey included a warning to the United States of a "reciprocal response in the event of any action taken against Iran," warning that "all friends and neighbors must know that the repercussions of any US attack on Iranian infrastructure will affect everyone."

This comes amid renewed US aggression against Iran, which prompted Iranian responses through operations targeting numerous US bases in the region.
